In plain English, because that's how I'd want it explained to me. Last updated 12 June 2026.

If you use the contact form, I receive what you type: your name, email address, company, what you're interested in, and your message. It's processed by Netlify (this site's host) and lands in my inbox. I use it to reply to you, and for nothing else. No marketing lists, no sharing, no selling.
A simple counter runs on every page, for everyone. It sets no cookies and keeps nothing that identifies you. Your IP address is scrambled into a one-way code using a secret key that is thrown away after two days, and the address itself is never written down anywhere. What I keep is the page you looked at, when, roughly where in the world you were, and how long the page was open. Two days later even I cannot connect any of it back to a person. The site also loads Fathom Analytics, which counts visits the same cookieless way.
The same check tells me which organisation owns the network you are using. On an office or university network that is usually the organisation itself, and I record the name. On home broadband, mobile data or a VPN it is only your provider, which tells me nothing useful, so it is discarded. This never identifies you personally — at most it tells me where someone works.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you'll accept analytics cookies. If you accept, two further tools run: Google Analytics, which gives me anonymous usage statistics (which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from), and Apollo, which also helps me understand which companies visit the site. If you decline, neither loads. The site works identically either way.
Your choice is remembered for 12 months on your device. You can change it any time: .
Workshop bookings run through Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace company). The details you enter there, including payment, are processed by Acuity under their privacy policy. I receive your booking details so I can run the session you booked.
The homepage plays a short film hosted by Vimeo, and the site's typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Loading them means your browser talks to those services, which can see your IP address as part of serving the content. Neither is used by me to track you.
Under UK GDPR you can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how it's used, and take a copy elsewhere. Email me and I'll sort it. If you're not happy with how I handle it, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Messages you send me are kept as ordinary business correspondence for as long as they're relevant. Analytics data is held under Google's standard retention settings. I don't build profiles of individuals from any of it.
